"Stories are the oldest form of education", goes a well-known saying. Good thoughts that are hard to understand can be made simple and interesting through stories.
We find kids glued to screen and electronics most of the time. Melon Town is a way to put the screen time to good use.
Melon Town is an entertainment platform and here you will find short videos of good stories those that are adapted from the works of popular authors worldwide and I have enjoyed reading to my kids. I will slightly alter to simplify depiction and to kindle enough enthusiasm to read the book.
Not just that... If you are a mom like me who is worried about your child’s viewing content, be rest assured that each week’s story is handpicked to deliver a good thought or as I would like to call it a feel-good story narrated using positive language and is surely age-appropriate to carefully nourish the curious minds.
There is more to it...Besides the narration of the plot, there is the picturization as well. Instead of just showing the book and reading the story, I have attempted to awaken the drama kings or queens within your child by presenting the plot of the story in simple DIY art forms. Enabling kids to think out of the box and hope they run to grab some sheets of paper and pen to try to explore doing it themselves!
As a kid, I loved listening to stories from my mom/grandma; and when I had kids of my own, the most enjoyable moment for me and my kids was the bedtime stories and at times enacting our favorite stories at home. Slowly we started exploring lots of books in our journey.
We have traveled quite a bit and, in our journey, we came across lots of new stories which I always wished I could share with as many kids as possible and that’s how Melon Town was born - To share the joy of book reading and to put the screen time to some good use through Melon Town videos.
It’s a fun expedition to explore new stories. As said by Jimmy Neil Smith, “We are all storytellers. We live in a network of stories. There isn’t a stronger connection between people than storytelling”.
So, if you are still wondering what is special about Melon Town beyond the stories … Of course, the kids, you & me!!!
